How We Can Help
DaZy Aphasia Centre of Toledo is a resource for people with aphasia, their caregivers, and the community. Through our innovative group programming, we provide a therapeutic environment that promotes successful living with aphasia. We help members create opportunities for social connection and break down barriers to communication. We help advocate through research and education initiatives and foster hope.
We try to serve as many people as we can by providing a variety of therapy and socializing activities. We provide a Life Participation Approach to Aphasia, meaning that we provide services guided by the real-life needs of our members. Activities our members can participate in include:
Recent Activities
- Group and individual therapy
- Casual chat and lunches
- Communicating with other aphasia support groups around the country
- A variety of Brain Games to stimulate thinking and help facilitate easier communication
- Trips to nearby sites such as the Toledo Botanical Gardens and the Butterfly House in Whitehouse OH
- Trips to go see movies
- Yoga and body recall exercises
- A book discussion group
- Encouraging members to share and publish their stories
